Grüneburg Park Frankfurt

Grüneburg Park in Frankfurt is one of the most popular and largest parks in Frankfurt. Located right next to the Palmen Garten in the Westend, this 75 acres of meadows and huge shady trees, looks and feels lush and welcoming. The land was once owned by the Rothschild family, but has been owned and maintained by the city since 1935. It has a couple of marvellous, hidden gems in it.

Located on one side of the park is a beautiful jewel of a church. This is the Greek Orthodox church, "Hagios Georgios". As you can see from the photo, it has a unique stone and brickwork style along with some gorgeous mosaics around its' outside walls. The golden domes on the roof contrast nicely with all the green trees surrounding the church. Unfortunately it is not open to the public to go inside unless you are joining them for services.

Grüneburg Park has lots of playgrounds for the kids, a jogging track all the way around, a unique looking hexagonal shaped cafe, and plenty of space for frisbee, kicking a soccer ball around, or just laying around sunbathing. (a few people might be sunbathing in their birthday suits, so don't be shocked)

You can reach the park by taking bus #32, which stops right in front of the park, or by taking U-6, U-7 and getting off at Westend and then walking straight down Siesmayer Strasse.

We would be happy to include visiting this park on your private tour.
